Purpose and limits

Information about racing and sports betting providers is the content of the site. It takes no bets, holds no customer accounts, accepts no money and does not broker between readers and bookmakers. No forecast promising a win appears on it.

New Zealand law in brief

TAB NZ has been the only lawful provider of racing and sports betting for people in New Zealand since 28 June 2025, under section 74AAA of the Racing Industry Act 2020, and operates as TAB and Betcha. The Department of Internal Affairs oversees compliance. No other bookmaker is licensed in New Zealand, as there is no licence to apply for. The betting age is 18.

Content is prepared with care and updated regularly, but odds, markets and promotional terms move, so what the provider itself says at the time governs. No responsibility is taken for decisions based on the site’s content. The Fair Trading Act 1986 prohibits misleading conduct in trade and the content is written accordingly. External links were checked when added; the content behind them is the responsibility of their owners, and a link to unlawful content is removed once it is reported.

The Copyright Act 1994 protects the site’s texts, tables and graphics. Reuse beyond fair dealing needs the publisher’s written permission first.

Support with gambling harm

Betting is risky. Where gambling appears to be causing harm, whether to the reader or to someone close, the Gambling Helpline and Safer Gambling Aotearoa are the services to approach. TAB NZ sets out deposit limits, bet limits and self-exclusion on its own pages.
